Last month, we held our BAS Cargo Masterclass in Guadalajara, an event that completely broke away from the traditional corporate experience.
More than just a conference, it was an immersive experience where we combined logistics learning with a different kind of environment: a beer tasting experience that made the event far more dynamic and memorable.

The masterclass began with the first topic: “Cargo Theft in Transit,” presented by Yocelyn Arteaga, Risk Engineering Manager at Zurich.
During her session, attendees were able to identify key strategies for:
- Prevention
- Reaction
- Recovery
within one of the most critical risks in the logistics industry.

The second session focused on “Hidden Damage in Ground Transportation,” presented by Iliana Perales, UW Marine Manager at Chubb.
It was an incredibly insightful talk that explored how to:
- Detect non-visible damage
- Properly protect a claim
- Avoid losses that often go unnoticed

Afterward, attendees enjoyed a break unlike the usual conference format.
A catering service was offered alongside a beer tasting experience, where guests also had the opportunity to learn about the brewing process through a tour of Cervecería Loba’s facilities.
Without a doubt, it was a moment that helped break away from the traditional format and encouraged stronger connections among attendees.

To close the event, a roundtable discussion with freight forwarders took place, featuring Mtro. Juan J. Briseño, specialist in foreign trade, and Mtro. Ulises Membrilla, expert in commercial operations, both from Integra4.
During this session, key topics were discussed, including:
- What happens when a client files a claim
- Crisis management
- Responsibility within the logistics chain
It was an open space for dialogue where meaningful conversations emerged not only among the panelists, but also among attendees, encouraging networking and the exchange of real industry experiences.
An Experience Beyond the Traditional
This masterclass was not only a learning event, but also a space designed to share knowledge, create connections, and provide real value to those who are part of the logistics industry.
At BAS Cargo, we believe that understanding risks is the first step toward managing them effectively.
And we will continue creating spaces like this — where information becomes real tools for better decision-making.
