Last week, we hosted a new edition of the BAS Cargo Monterrey Masterclass 2026, bringing together logistics professionals for an enriching experience focused on knowledge sharing, relationship building, and addressing some of the industry's most pressing challenges.
The event began with a presentation by Yocelyn Arteaga, Risk Engineering Manager Marine & Motor at Zurich, who delivered the session "Cargo Theft in Transit: Prevention, Response, and Recovery." During her presentation, she shared valuable insights on identifying risk factors and strengthening security measures throughout logistics operations.
Then Daniel Mora, Northern Region Claims Manager, presented "Cold Chain Claims: How to Prevent Million-Dollar Losses Caused by Temperature Deviations." His session highlighted the critical role of prevention, monitoring, and risk management when handling temperature-sensitive cargo.
One of the most memorable moments of the afternoon was the wine tasting experience, which offered attendees the opportunity to connect in a more relaxed setting, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional relationships within the logistics community.
To conclude the event, participants joined a roundtable discussion featuring freight forwarders and claims adjusters under the theme "When the Customer Files a Claim: Crisis Management and Responsibility Across the Logistics Chain." The panel explored real world experiences, operational challenges, and best practices for managing critical situations throughout the supply chain.
